I always love to make quick quilts and I think baby quilts usually fit in the quick category. I should make more of them because they are just fun… And, well,

fast!

I have always enjoyed working with Michael Miller since I started the Podcast. I remember calling them blindly and chatting with Kait, the person I was transferred to, about ideas of how I could work with the company. I was super chatty and Kait was super patient.

Fast forward several years and I now email back and forth with Kait often. We have worked on so many projects together and she has believed in me which gave me some much needed confidence in this thing called quilting. She really holds a special place in my heart. She is awesome.

Kait recently had a baby girl so a baby quilt was in order. And I knew it had to be a baby quilt made with cotton couture because most of the projects I work on for Michael Miller are cotton couture projects. I have had this rainbow napkin sitting by my sewing machine for some time – I couldn’t part with it because it always made me smile. And so I pulled my cotton couture colors inspired by the napkin and got to work.

I really love how it turned out. I love the bright colors, rainbow colors are just the best, the bright backing, and well black and white polka dot binding. I love it. And Kait sent me the cutest pictures of her daughter smiling on it. My day was made getting pictures of a smiling baby on a quilt I made. Like day made x forever!

Pieced, quilted and bound by yours truly

June 2016

Fabrics for the front are cotton couture by Michael Miller. Backing is a print from ikea. Binding I am not sure but any black and white would work.
